Eastern Colorado is flirting with record highs (upper 80s low 90s) over the next week, with periods of high fire danger in various areas due to wind and low humidities. Not fall at all.

September was also the warmest September in Denver history.

I hope Maryland gets more snow activity, it's been a while since I've got a real decent amount.   #-o

Fall weather in Oklahoma is expected to go on dry.  A weatherman for channel KTUL 8 Tulsa said he doesn't think there will be a drop of rain during the Tulsa State Fair.

My goodness, you know a drought in Oklahoma still means business when it does try to rain, it does very little.  The mesonet for Stillwater only got .03.  I only got .01.  At most other personal weather stations in Stillwater, it didn't shower enough to trip the bucket, so they got ZERO.  Only one site in Oklahoma got a semi-decent amount of rain last night.

As luck would have it, I was checking on the buoy that is located off the coast of downtown Chicago and this is what was going on. This buoy is placed by the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant, Purdue University. They place it, along with several others, in the spring and retrieve them in the fall. Today was the day to retrieve. These buoys collect many different lake conditions like water temps, wave heights, wind speed and direction. Along with recording data they broadcast a 30 second video during the day of the lake conditions, every hour on the hour. Usually you just see waves and sometimes the view of the Chicago downtown, if the wind is blowing in the right direction. I have seen six foot waves and passing sailboats. I have also seen the fireworks that they shoot off at Navy Pier on Friday evenings during the summer.

Been dry in my area of North Texas. Our last real rain was September 3rd. We received 0.04 in. on September 23rd, but that isn’t significant. October is typically one of our wetter months, but not in 2024. We have a possibility of a little rain this coming week.

I got 8.59 from Milton and since then the tap has shut off. Nothing since then and  nothing forecasted  in the long range.
Kinda normal for October as it is my driest month. Also following Milton the weather cooled down and we actually got a cold front. Weather has stayed pretty nice but I hate this time of year. No storms. Just chamber of commerce weather.
Boring.

For Saturday night, Oklahoma is where the heaviest weather action in the nation is concentrated. It's rained about 2.5" here so far, since Friday.  There is a flood watch out for much of Oklahoma.  Even a tornado warning issued for eastern Oklahoma County with some damage at Tinker Air Force Base.

Raining heavily in Stillwater at up to a rate of 7" per hour before backing off.  This may be the drought breaker!

We've jumped straight into winter with the first snow of the season along the Colorado Front Range and more expected all week, perhaps 6"-10" by end of week where I am.
