Ecowitt Wittboy in Spain
« on: March 23, 2024, 12:09:54 PM »
Hi, just wondered if the Wittboy would be a good choice for Spain ? Wasnt sure of the frequency used and also would need to run for several months on its own as would monitor back in the UK... Didnt know if dust might be an issue on the solar pv as not alot of rain at times in southern Spain? Any help much appreciated  [tup]

I've got the WS90 myself, but I'm not happy with the temperature measurements. Cloudy day, everything is okay. But when the sun hits the shield, temperature goes up, 1-3c differences. Thinking about a own shield but don't know yet...

Thank you for taking the time to reply .Hmm I guess 1-3C is Ok ish and sure a larger shield would help. I wonder if ecowitt sell a shield?
I have the lightning sensor on my UK set up and unaware they sold a shield for this but they do as apparently it has to be mounted outside for accuracy.
Thanks again Tim

Maybe more, I don't know yet. Yes, Ecowitt sells a shield but that isn't good. You can add your lightning detector if needed. Yeah, it's better to have it outside :)

Btw Tim, you can check this for more info about many stations of Ecowitt including the shields you can use: http://meshka.eu/Ecowitt/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=start#ws90_wittboy.
