Stamp collecting is a second hobby for me in addition to my PWS interests. I have had an interest in collecting stamps since the 1950s, but have cut back significantly in recent years.
In addition to collecting stamps from particular nations, most collectors have a topic or two that they specialize in, such as ships on stamps, explorers, the Olympics, etc. Some collectors seek out stamps with a meteorological theme, and there are hundreds of stamps issued by nations recognizing weather-related topics.
For example, Stevenson screen weather instrument shelters have been depicted on many stamps, and, just for fun, I thought I would share a few of them in this post. (Note: The stamp with “SHQIPERIA” on it was issued by Albania and the Kalaallit Nunaat stamp is a Greenland issue. Also, the stamp I use as my WxForum avatar is from Sweden.)
