Weather Display directly to Meteotemplate
« on: April 08, 2021, 06:22:55 PM »
My current setup is weather station to data logger to laptop running WD to FTP upload website to Meteotemplate (my personal web page)

I'm trying to eliminate the laptop and FTP portion and I think there is a way.

Can I use Meteobridge to deliver my data directly to my website?  Is there a tutorial on this someone can point me to?

Thank you
Gary

If you don't find an authoritative answer here, you might try emailing the author of Meteotemplate.  He has always been more than helpful, and may know of other implementations like you are trying to achieve.

A Meteobridge also supports the MeteoTemplate-api  http://www.meteotemplate.com/web/wiki/wiki5GB.php

A small router type device like https://ambientweather.com/amweatherbridge.html which uses another name for a metebridge.
The price includes the Meteobridge licence and full access of ambientweather.net
This small device will do all uploads as WeatherDisplay did without using a laptop.

Same as WeatherDisplay and Weewx a Meteobridge can also use a raspberryPI  to run on.
A little more complex compared to a "WeatherBridge" as you need to do the install yourself.
The raspberryPI  has SSD  storage, that way  you can have a detailed database of weather-data.
But as your MeteoTemplate also has all its data in a database that is maybe an unneeded feature.

MeteoTemplate There is a WiKi (link above) and a forum http://www.meteotemplate.com/forum/index.php

Follow up to my question:
I already used Meteotemplate and so I ordered Meteobridge and have it up and running now.
Much easier.  I appreciated Weather Display for probably over 20 years but I have too many hobbies and keeping up with making sure the laptop was running and the different settings on WD were working ended up being too much.

Here's my revamped web site:  weatheromaha.com  Best if viewed on a pc vs. phone.

I'm hoping I can just set it and forget about it while I'm enjoying my other hobbies.
