VLIKE WH32N is a strange WH31
« on: November 07, 2020, 01:21:11 PM »
I bought this a VLIKE WH32N on Amazon
https://www.amazon.it/VLIKE-Trasmettitore-Temperatura-igrometro-meteorologica/dp/B078HW2M8Q
https://www.amazon.co.uk/VLIKE-Wireless-Temperature-Hygrometer-Transmitter/dp/B078HW2M8Q

It looks like a WH32 or WH31 sensor but on the back there is a switch with only three positions so it is not a WH32.

My GW1000 (Froggit DP1500) recognizes it as a WH31 but it works only in the first three channels.

Inside I found a DCF77receiver but I don't know if it transmit a time packet or not. I used an USB-SDR radio and RTL_433 but didn't see a time packet. Maybe RTL_433 doesn't decode such packet.

It is a WH31.

The WH31 has more than 3 channels possible with the available switches. With 3 switches you have the possibility of 8 channels depending on the combination of which are up and which are down. The last switch is only used to determine °F or °C.

No, it has a three position switch and a button for C/F
This is the photo taken from FCC site

As you can see there are pads for the 4 switched that are unused.
However the model in photo is different from mine since this one has pressure sensor soldered on the left and none temp/hum sensor, mine has only the SHT30.

It seems that all that sensor have the same PCB (PCB has changes over time but is the same for all models at that time)  and I believe that it is possible to convert a WH31 into a WH32 changing the solder pads. But I am not sure.
In some WH31 models all pads are visible, in some others some of them are under the little switches.

Ahhh yes. I see now interesting. I think it must have been something that was created for a display console that only shows three sensors. Having more channels like 8 would make it not work with said console.
