All,
With the uptick in space weather activity over the past 72 hours, there has been an increase in web traffic to the websites that host some of the images that we source for our Space Weather pages on our own sites. Some of these sites have not been able to keep up with demand and are experiencing downtime, notably soho.nascom.nasa.gov and even swpc.noaa.gov sporadically. As a result, you'll see errors and failures to load some images on your space weather pages (That's the Error: 019 message you're seeing where your images should be). Hopefully this should resolve as these agencies mitigate the issues caused by the sudden influx of web traffic as folks scramble to find out more about these recent solar flares and upcoming geomagnetic storms.
In the meantime, I hope those of you at the northern latitudes can see and enjoy some really spectacular aurora over the next few days!
