WH32-EP connection with HP2551-C
« on: July 29, 2020, 08:21:30 PM »
Received my Ecowitt shipment today (finally) and went to work connecting sensors.  The WH31's connected with the console pretty much immediately, but for some reason the WH32-EP would not.  I tried several things and finally I got it to work by registering a new outdoor sensor, but I need to verify if that resolved the issue correctly.

Should the WH32-EP be recognized in the "T&H" field or the "T&HP" field?  I am pretty sure the "T&H" field was "Disabled" and there was an ID number (from the factory) when I initially went through the menu system.  But when I registered a new outdoor center it populated in the "T&H" field.

I am speculating this is not correct. Maybe T&H is for a WH32 and T&HP is for the WH32-EP.

Looks correct to me.

T&H is Temperature and Humidity which is what the WH32-EP provides. In that left column it refers to the WH32 or WH32-EP.

T&HP is Temperature, Humidity and Pressure. That is the WH32B device that you keep indoor. This is very important, because without you have no barometric pressure.

What I recommend you do first is do both firmware updates:

- WiFi firmware update with WS View app
- Revision firmware with microSD card (SDHC type)

OK, I had put the WH32B to the side thinking I did not need both a WH32B and a WH32-EP, but now I realize I do.

Unless I missed something, it came with the latest and greatest firmware.

Ok good. I don't have an HP2551-C so I don't know if those are the newest firmware versions....but okay.

I was going to point out that you should have a TH&P sensor (for Inside) that came with the console.
That seems to be missing on your console and without you wont get pressure readings.
