The Davis display head measures "inside" temperature with a poorly placed sensor somewhere in the body of the display unit. It's strange that they did that. In the past, it's always been 5-8 F high from the actual inside ambient, so I will also need to re-attach the little 40 mm fan that I'd placed over the rear vent holes on the display case to attempt to pull the inside-case temp down a bit to make it closer to inside room ambient.

The "display head" is referred to as a "console". As far as the inside temp, why don't you merely use the offset? The fan will do you little good getting an accurate ambient temp reading.

Thanks - I didn't know I could program an offset. Is it linear? I'd much prefer that they provided an external temp sensor to plug in, but if that's the best that can be done, it's better than nothing.

Well, if you mean is it the same no matter what the temp is, yes. If you subtract 5F, it will be minus 5F no matter what the temp is.

All the links for https://github.com/weewx/weewx/wiki/cwxn (CWXN) appear to be dead.  Has this function been incorporated in the main body of code for weewx?

But it has issues with rain accumulation and humidity. I install the above package then substitute a repaired cwxn.py file
