Has anyone checked this station out or own one of these? How do they perform?

I may be completely wrong, but in the little research I did looking for a price, I believe it's not due out til April.

Nice to see Rainwise moving forward with new updated products.
If I wasn't tied to Cumulus for my website I would consider something like this.
The new Weatherflow Tempest also coming soon. Waiting for some reviews on it.

Not me...at least not yet, I was merely looking for the four digit price tag. My VP2 is modded to the point that it will really take something special to dethrone it, and yes, that's mostly thanks to you. =D>

Did a quick look for the Tempest, and it seems very appropriate that the smartphone is displaying a temperature of 80 degrees.

The ultrasonic wind sensor is wonderful when there is no snow, no ice, no birds and no insects which like to build in these precision cavities.

I have a couple of used Vaisala WXT units which are amazing when there is no snow.  Even with heaters (not melters as I'd like) to try to keep them clear, any accumulation of snow on the domes really makes the reported wind info go bonkers, and makes them impractical for anywhere above the freezing/snow line in this continent for 24 hour, all year round sensing.  Even old reliable cup anemometers and the RM Young/rainwise propellers get clogged up with really heavy stuff, but those are off line for short periods of time in most cases (thank goodness for the trees' sake we've not had coatings of clear ice in years).

I think we'll see these interesting ultrasonics be of limited implementation, but maybe someone will come up with a solution.

I'm pretty happy but would consider a shiny new toy with a nice bright display console as long as it worked well and stayed in the budget of course.  :-)

I'm sure there have been some success stories of acquisitions but most are bad news for the customer. In this case, maybe something good will come by the fact they have a new unit coming out.
