Cracked Glass on Atlas Model 0601M Display
« on: February 05, 2019, 10:24:43 PM »
I have developed a couple of cracks on Display glass.
Has anyone taken the display apart?
Does anyone know of a screen protector for the display?
If I was going to replace it myself, do I need a special "touch" sensitive glass?

Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't think that you would need any screen protection for a display that sits on a counter/table. Screen protectors are for mobile devices that can be dropped or scratched. So how did your console break? Was it dropped? Did some kid press really hard on the display? Or was it exposed to extreme heat/cold and then broke? Something else? In any of these situations warranty will only cover if it is determined to be a manufacturing defect only. If it was customer caused neglect or accident then it won't be covered

If there are other reports of cracks on the display then we may be looking at a manufacturing defect. Sometimes on displays after some time they can develop what looks like cracks and they really aren't cracks. What it sometimes is, is delamination of screen layers and what you are seeing is light hitting some internal film that has come unglued. This would definitely be a manufacturing defect.

Can you post a picture attachment?
