Minor glitch seems like the footer is a bit wider than the rest of the page, the mobile and admin icons are off screen to the left?

See http://www.sanfordweather.com/meteo/

At least that's how it shows in Firefox!

Looks good to me, try holding down the refresh button for slightly longer, it could be just CSS pulled from cache

Hi Jachym I noticed on my tablet (Nexus 10) that gauges are displayed very huge by default it seems also to happen on very much used devices from Apple ( iPad ) attached screnshot , any clues how this can be fixed ? As there are a lot iPad users (don't know how it behaves on iPhone)

Yes I know this and it is probably the only one thing right now that I just cant get my head around. It seems like it never affects FF and usually happens in Chrome, but the weird thing is that it seems to be totally random, it sometimes does happen, sometimes not. If I refresh the page it will occur on about 50% cases. And it only happens on some websites, not all. My for example where I run the demo, never does it.

And also looking at the code, I really dont see why it is not resizing the gauges correctly, if you click the zoom-in or zoom-out icon it gets back to normal, but those buttons use the exact same function as the initial loading one, which should shrink the gauges to fit the block.

This is something Im still (so far unsuccessfully) trying to solve, but it is as I said very difficult because I am unable to replicate the problem on my side and it happens completely randomly.

OK I see.. it is incorrectly set path.

You need:
path = "/hebertville/"
pageURL = "http://www.meteolacstjean.com"

Make sure you have this

OK, "good news"...

Your page seems to be doing this all the time, which is "good" because I can look at what exactly is going on and I think I know already. It seems to be a problem with XMLHttp request and that would explain it. Right now I think it is because on slower servers, it does not load jQuery fast enough and so it does not resize the gauges.

In other words, it loads the gauges before loading jQuery, this results in it not resizing and then it later loads jQuery, so when you try resizing it using the icons, it works. And it works on faster servers, because it loads jQuery in time and also explains why it sometimes does work and sometimes not - current server load.

So the solution should be trying to somehow force the gauges to only run the resize after jQuery is loaded. I will work on it.

That's great news I saw it too that this happens random, I did not get the huge gauges on online simulators that confused me too, well I wait for yor solution it's no hurry
thanks in advance

See http://www.sanfordweather.com/meteo/

At least that's how it shows in Firefox!

Looks good to me, try holding down the refresh button for slightly longer, it could be just CSS pulled from cache

Nope that didn't do it, just looked on my Wife's computer with both Firefox and IE with same results!

Not a biggie as long as I remember to scroll to the left if I want to access the Admin pages!

Just looked at it again and seems I had zoomed in one step in FF, as soon as I Reset the zoom level everything is good  ](*,)

I noticed with the banner that the two small airports by me have metar but not TAF. They won't work.  The two larger airports have TAF.  They work but both show clear and one shows cloudy on the banner and the other shows mostly cloudy.
The two small airports are KDXR and KOKX.  The two larger are KHPN and KPOU.

Ron I think with your help by providing me access to your FTP I fixed the gauges! Something that was puzzling me for quite some time. Now, unfortunately I do not have a possibility to check in a different browser right now, so if you or anyone else could check your site and see if the gauges now resize properly.

I see, you are absolutely right and I see the problem now... I used a function which only supports TAF...  ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Try this and let me know if it worked:
Go to your header.php and find line 67

Code: [Select]
$metarData = (getTafFromWWW ($ICAO));
there, change it to:

Code: [Select]
$metarData = (getMetarFromWWW ($ICAO));
This will get the METAR instead of TAF

OK good news.

So I will (probably tomorrow) release an updated version of the gauges block which fixes this problem. And in the bug fixes section I will give instructions for people who want to use Metar instead of TAF how to do it.

Thanks guys

Jachym,
For mine to work I also had to change the line below the one you had us change(line68):
Code: [Select]
$condition = getWeatherGrafic($metarData["taf"],$ICAO);to
Code: [Select]
$condition = getWeatherGrafic($metarData["metar"],$ICAO);Tom

When I switch my current block from db to wd (so I can pull UV from clientraw.txt as well) I don't get the right data.
Time is 01:00 and all data is 0 except temp which is -4.

Any ideas?

Is the PATH correct in the settings?  Is it pointing to the correct location of clientraw.txt ?
