OK I made a few more changes and your website is now fully functional. Slow, but everything is now working and your database is ready.

This is done, the problem is that my knowledge in this area are very basic, without their help, I would not have been able to install, beers with dinner included when we greet.

Again very grateful

New plugin - WxSim
« Reply #408 on: September 30, 2015, 11:33:47 AM »
A new plugin is now available, which uses the WxSim software logs to display forecasted conditions using graphs, tables and icons.

Main features:
- dynamic graphs of various parameters forecasted by WxSim
- textual forecast for upcoming days
- detailed forecast for user-specified hours, including icons and possibility to display all the parameters

Install instructions:
- download and unzip the files
- open forecast.php and set up the script in the specified section
- upload the files to your server and add link to the menu
- given the log files are relatively difficult to work with as they are inconsistent and also the fact I do not have wxSim myself, it is possible that your file might not be loaded 100% correctly, in such case feel free to contact me and I will see what I can do to make it work for you

more info about setup in the blog

Demo: http://www.meteotemplate.com/template/plugins/wxSim/forecast.php (please note: I do not have WxSim myself, so the demo uses a static sample file and does not change)

Hi Jachym,
I presume one needs WxSims to be able to use this new plugin?  which I don't have.

Hello good evening, welcome clarification in summaries, statements of the columns are (AVG) (MAX) (MIN) (RAN) (DE) indicating the latter?
Thank you

Hi,

guys, please use English (in the worst case French or German), but I do not speak Spanish and unfortunately I have no clue what you are talking about  :-(

Cheers

New Plugin - Forecast Comparison!
« Reply #418 on: October 04, 2015, 01:49:36 PM »
One thing that is (was) still missing in the template was some more sophisticated forecast. Well, that is no longer true! I would like to introduce the new plugin, which I called "Forecast comparison". I am sure it will be quite useful and it is again something I haven´t seen anywhere else, though I many times thought I would like to have something like this. Read further to get to know all the features and how to install it.

So what does this new plugin do? When looking at forecasts on the web there is always a problem with deciding which service to use. There is several providers that show you the forecast and often the values differ substantially. So... wouldn´t it be nice to have them all lined up next to each other, being able to see what each shows? OK, but wouldn´t it be even better if you could then also retrospectivally compare these values with the reality measured by your station to see which one was the most accurate? Well if your answer to these questions was yes, then this plugin is for you!

I will also put a poll on the blog later and it will be quite interesting to see which service is the most accurate. Is there an overall winner in terms of accuracy? Are they all more or less the same? Is one substantially better in Europe and other in the USA and Canada? We will see :-)

Read more about how to use and install in the blog.

Hi Jachym,
This is something I've wanted to do for a long time and my manual methods have been too complex and too much work, I reeeally like it.  Still some more settings to look into but got 3 comparisons working.  However WU gives an error.  I have cut and paste the key so that should be correct.  http://www.komokaweather.com/j-template/plugins/forecastComparison/index.php

Hi,

ok for those of you who have problems with your WU, post here the location you would like to use and I will try to find the correct URL. Also make sure you have a valid API key for WU.

Paul, in your case I tried komoka and it worked.

Try hard-coding it, on line 784

put this URL:

http://api.wunderground.com/api/***API KEY*****/hourly10day/q/ca/komoka.json

Thanks Jachym,
Seems that I have got the WU working but the AERIS is not and getting an error on line 610.  I have again checked the ID and secret code from their site and I have it correct in config.sys.

for aeris try "komoka"

Just tried it, "komoka" should work - just keep in mind Aeris does not have forecast for your location, I just inspected the forecast and the data is taken from London airport - I just hope its not the London in UK :D

Thanks again Jachym,
Somehow, AERIS started to work again, as it did initially but then popped up the line 610 error.  So that is good for now (London airport is usually the local forecast location for the region|).

Now back to another WU error on line 1294
