Block Update - Forecast 3.0

I updated the Forecast block. You now have the option to also use DarkSky.net forecasts. No need to set up anything, just update the block files and then in your settings make sure DarkSky is enabled.

Also, in a few hours Im going to Prague to visit my dad, this happens about twice a year and I will therefore not be available to provide support until Sunday. Any issues or emails will be dealt with on Sunday as I will only have limited access to the internet until then.

The DarkSky forecast works but the settings page does not show it as one of the options - I just guessed DarkSky, and it was correct.

I had to use darkSky,as  my hosting is Linux which is very case sensitive.

Actually my guess was darkSky and I mis-typed in my previous post.

And thanks Bill, I have edited the forecastConfig.txt so that darkSky does now show in the setup.

ok, just got back. Last night was quite chilly and given today the sun just set and it is much colder than this time of the day yesterday I expect we will hit maybe even -20C today.

Sorry, I forgot the darkSky option in the config, but as some of you figured out, it works fine, I only forgot to mention it in the description in the config file - will do.

Just installed forecast v3 updated menu etc trying to edit settings and getting the following when trying to save "You don't have permission to access /template/admin/blockSave.php on this server."

This has to do with permissions set on the server, make sure this file has 777, it needs to be able to write files by the web user.

back in cold Brno and a few updates:

Block Update - Station Data 3.2

I updated the station data block. As one of you noted, the original script when selecting “alltime” showed the overall sum for the precipitation. This does not make much sense so now it works like this:
- if you only have data from this year (new users), the script will show you this year’s sum
- if you have more years it will show the average annual sum counted as average from all years’ values, ignoring current one because current year is incomplete and therefore would introduce a bias to the overall average (the value is lower)

New Block - Current Map

Hi guys,

thought it would be nice to show you the Arctic front moving in to my country

This block is an interactive world map of current conditions (temperature, feels like, wind speed, gust, precipitation, dew point, UV etc.) as well as forecast and history maps in hourly steps.

No need to set up anything, works out of the box

still can't save this despite changing file properties to R,W,E

Does the setting up of other blocks work?
Also, make sure you select the entire folder, not just all the files inside it, set it to 777 and select to apply to also all the files inside it.

If this still does not work, but other blocks setup works, then copy the settings.php you have for this block somewhere on your pc, then completely delete the forecast block and re-download and re-upload it again and copy the settings.php file back where it was and see if that helps.

I have found a pesky little bug with the Guestbook plugin.
Require email to no does not work for it still requires a user to input email address. Other than that seems to be working.

New Block - UK - Current Conditions

Hi guys,

a new block is now available, which shows the current conditions at many stations around the United Kingdom. The data is shown on a map, where you can click the individual stations to view the data, as well as in a table below, where you can also sort it. You will need a MetOffice API key - if you are using some other UK-specific blocks you are likely to have one already and you can of course use that.

Steel Series plugin update works fine.

Usually I have no issue with updates and new blocks, but
worldWeather block is not displaying, just "More" and no response to clicking it.
UK Current Conditions block is showing:
  Current conditions
  Data currently not available
  Data source: MetOffice

Paul did you provide metOffice API key? Also try deleting the cache just in case it loaded the data before you inserted your key and in such case it would take 60 minutes for it to refresh the cache.

Yes I had used my WOW API but removing the cache did the trick.  I had done several refresh but missed the cache
