Region 3 SPRING CLEANING and SIGNALS TOOL Display
« on: January 11, 2015, 01:03:51 PM »
Time to get ready for spring.... Some stations may be falling off the BO server due to inactivity.  Others need to update their station info on the participants page,.... especially antenna types.  That's very important. A few have some unresolved issues. They need to 'push us' for help, of course... . A few have given up, and it's obvious a few will never get things together... .
See the attached PDF's...

Also.... I've begun a bit of work as I have time updating the signals pages with new server signals.
This takes some time for each station, so here's what shall occur...

Thanks to ROBO.... the site is UP and ACTIVE with all stations in Region 3 that have sent signals since Nov 1 2014  see http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=23233.msg239998#msg239998

If, on the attached pdf's, your station is highlighted red you certainly have a very low priority, and also run the risk of being removed from the BO servers, since you appear to be inactive. I will not waste time adding you to the signals pages.

GREEN stations require no updating, as there has been no change in available display data.

Some of you, especially newer stations, may wish a higher priority for addition, and I'll be glad to do it as soon as I can, so you will have a higher priority if you'll PM or Email me... don't request it here.

So initially It will be "first requested, first added/updated.  Everybody else goes in alphabetically by location.
Example pages:  hopefully no errors...
index:  http://frankfortweather.us/BoStaSig/
updated pages so far:
Frankfort http://frankfortweather.us/BoStaSig/fran689/index.html
Maui http://frankfortweather.us/BoStaSig/maui993/index.html
Minden http://frankfortweather.us/BoStaSig/mind808/index.html
San Luis Obispo http://frankfortweather.us/BoStaSig/sanl1214/index.html
----won't post anymore links here... watch the web pages as time progresses... I'm slow.

Thanks for the good work!

Can you give a little explanation as to what the colors on the index mean?  Like station red/green and city yellow / cyan.
It appears that the city turns yellow after it's been selected once by me.

Thanks

"Yellow" indicates you've 'visited' that station. "Cyan" indicates a link you haven't visited. (normal)  Depending on browser settings they revert back to 'normal' - cyan  once you've cleaned your cache... or revisit the index,... depends on browser and settings...
The "nav" color change used to be more or less standard as an aid to surfers on pages with lotsa links...  I like it, you're stuck with it.

"Red" on rollover means "your cursor is here",... or "click me"... or whatever...

Green station numbers are "Green" systems.... Red indicates "Red" station. And when new systems release next this  year, they'll probably be "blue",
assuming I don't get fed up with updates, additions, and changes... Got a buncha pages to update as of today.... gonna take awhile.  then Egon
will probably change things again, and I'll have to start over...  ](*,)

Index is 'sortable' by station#, station name, or 'country/state'.....
Note that the displays do NOT show all the data that can be shown... they're running "minimum" server data output for these displays currently.

Also the goal of this 'site' is to help operators optimize their station, by comparison, and to have some extra tools for isolating and mitigating noise sources.  It shows a 'digitized' version of the signals received at the server. The "HiRes" has helped folks in the past...

Sorry, I just can't throw a switch and update all stations.  I didn't build it with that capability, and this takes time to do.

SIGNALS PAGE UPDATED AND ACTIVE
« Reply #3 on: January 15, 2015, 06:59:23 PM »
OK... our good friend in Region 1, Robo, doesn't like to watch guys in pain, so
he rebuilt the Signals Pages for us in Region 3.... http://frankfortweather.us/BoStaSig/

So, probably months ahead of schedule, my way of doing things, we now have all active stations server signals
online in one easy to find location....Thanks to Robo...    and it'll be much easier to maintain.

So, if you've sent any signals at all since NOV 1 2014... you should be there, and be able to make
any optimizations or finesse adjustments needed... and the quiet time now is a good time to
really develop a baseline.  And track down noise.  This tool will help.

Please check the accuracy of the index, and your stations page(s    Greens only have 1 page)
If you catch an error, let me know... pm or email... if you post it here I may miss it.

And please follow, and read http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=23233.0 concerning such...

Cheers!

Mike
