Hi Mike...
I capture a 640x480 still every 15 seconds with each camera and then create a time lapse every other hour. Movie Salsa builds an AVI movie that ends up being about 250 MBs by the end of the day. I use a batch file to covert the AVI to an MP4 file that ends up being about 7 MBs which really isn't that much, space wise. Since my web host as unlimited space and doesn't charge me for what I use, I just upload all the movies from the end of each day to my web host and they get archived there. I still haven't got streaming setup yet but I sure do like your fine setup!
Thanks for the "like"... it took awhile to evolve. Your time lapse(s) are just beautiful, and the quality outstanding!
At the risk of hijacking Superdude's thread; here's some details he (and you) might find interesting, though it does discuss archiving.
http://ourspecial.net/twinhollies/hollycam2/aboutHollyCams.htm will tell you how I was getting my original time lapses up, especially under the heading "How to Qualify for Psychotherapy".

The FLV's were about 9MB ea and when I reached about 6 or 7 GB on the server, I received a perfectly nice note from my host suggesting that since they were growing so big I should drastically limit their size, as they equated to "little, or no-traffic archive storage" rather than an 'active' part of my sites - even though I had "unlimited" disc space. They were perfectly correct, and that may be part of your 'unlimited' disc space contract also, if you use a shared server.
(With the further addition of some features on my domains, and weather site, I expect any time to receive a reminder that I'm exceeding my 'fair share' of server resources too often. (About 17% at times... they get nervous over about 16%, from what I was told.)
When I 'retired' the original cam, and went with Logitech C920s I went to 1024 x 576 to cover more sky with the 3 'sky' cams, streaming them from my weather pc, with the weather radio, VWS, etc. The 4th cam is on an old HP820 by it's lonesome, at 800x600. WC7 does all the still image uploading to server, the live streaming as well, and also inserts the weather data from VWS. It'll save or record any or all cams as I tell it to.
Some have complained about WC7 using too much CPU, but my CPU total on that machine normally runs about 17-50% depending... if you look at any of the streams from cam 1,2,or 3 you'll see the bandwidth being used, and the CPU% in green, right below the time, on the lower right. If you look at cam 4, upper right, you'll see a slightly higher CPU%, ( with less bandwidth) all by itself, on the older machine. Newer CPUs are better, in other words.
Cheers!
Mike
