Good Afternoon,
I just purchased the WR400 yesterday and set it up. My SAME code is correct, the Voice alert is set, and the volume is turned up. Last night when the weekly test was performed, the audible and voice alert was never set off. However, the Adivisory light was flashing. Any suggestions ?
Thanks !

I'm pretty sure that is normal behavior for the newer Midland receivers.

I have/had 2 of these radio and the alerts just don't work. Weekly test don't work. Tried everything possible, all areas all alerts and still nojoy. Lights didn't flash and no sound alert.
Disappointing. Returning to Amazon.

Try setting the National Audible Test and the National Periodic Test as well as the Required Monthly Test and the the Required Weekly Test to 'On': https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0531/2856/0817/files/SAME_List_of_Emergencies_Non-Weather_Emergencies.pdf?v=1636648846

I am also a new owner of a WR400 which just arrived today (8-1-2023). Although I’m one of those people who is easily intimidated by modern technology, I had no problems setting it up for my state and county and weather radio frequency.
Question: Do I also have to manually enter the S.A.M.E. County Code or is that done automatically when I enter the county?
-
In short, when you enter the county, the county is set and does not need to be manually entered. When you go into the menu on the WR400 and scroll and click Set Location, you will see All, Multiple, or Single. If the Multiple or Single options are chosen, you will get to enter your county using the State and County Listings already provided in the radio. You may also hit the Right Button and manually enter your S.A.M.E. code that way. Both will do the same thing. However, some National Weather Service Offices are implementing Partial County Alerting across some of their counties. Using the State/County list, you can't set the radio up for that as those are set to alert for the whole county, you'd have to manually enter the county code if you wish to receive partial county alerts when they become available for your county. You can learn more about Partial County Alerting at https://www.weather.gov/pca/.

Many thanks for this information.

Did you ever find a solution?
Aug 2024 and I rec'd the WR400. The Voice icon shows on the screen but when the weekly test goes, I only get the flashing amber light, no tone, no voice. I tried it with the Tone Only alert and that works.

It has been stated elsewhere but that is normal behavior for all newer Midland weather radios. With the weekly test that's all you'll get.
