Problem with Update on WeatherLink.com
« on: September 18, 2020, 06:08:17 AM »
Good morning,

contact you for information about an issue related to the update of data on the site WeatherLink.com and smartphone Application (iOS and Android). Sometimes the data in the web page is not updated, and remains stuck at the last available state (even for days). When it happens I have to unlock this problem, restarting the weather control unit by hand, removing the power. As soon as the control unit restarts it then resumes to function properly. I would like to understand what causes this problem? What if there's a way to solve it completely? The software is up to date.

Thank you, have a good day!

Hi, which kind of device you are using to send data? WLL? weatherlinkIP? USD data logger?

i had some issue days ago, please check it.

I am guessing you are using the latest firmware on the WLIP? v1.15 which was a critical firmware update?

This problem has been occurting at least once a week for a long time. I also sent the device into assistance, but they don't think it has a problem.

The Device is: Vantage Pro 2 Cabled.
I have usb data logger with static IP Address.
Thanks.

Hi,

The equipment is connected to power supply and with an adapter already on the control unit, this adapter is connected with ethernet cable. In this adapter there is a sticker with DID (device id?) and Key.
If I use wheaterlink software on my pc, there are all data saved. But if I use the app or website often the data is not updated and remains blocked until the next restart of the control unit.

Thank you, have a good day!

You do have a Davis IP-logger, also called WLIP.  Your logger  is not an usb logger.
You should update the firmware as your problem occurs with all older IP-loggers.

Check this link https://support.davisinstruments.com/article/o3dfmlmgsp-weather-link-ip-data-logger-firmware-1-1-5-windows
which was also in the first answer  and update the logger.

Hi,

Thanks for your response, I updated the firmware to the latest available version. Now let's see if the problem comes back again.

Best Regards!

are you constantly trying to access the WLIP?  running a ping on it or have a window open on the webgui of the WLIP?

I ask as this has happened to others in the past.  the WLIP can only handle one process at a time.  so if it is connecting to weatherlink.com and sending data, when you try pinging it, or accessing the web interface, or using a 3rd party software to access the logger, you then stop the WLIP from doing its job.

power off the WLIP, make sure no other devices are trying to access the IP address of the WLIP. then power it up again. see if weatherlink then has the data.

Sorry what exactly do you mean by the acronym "WLIP"?
The WheaterLink software? Or other?

Thanks.

Best regards.

WLIP is the abbreviation often used for the WeatherLinkIP logger
