Grilling and BBQ stuff
« on: May 20, 2020, 04:10:00 PM »
Is this thing grill rated ? I need a grill probe

:)

I am kidding

I just can't resist sharing about my grill thermometer. This is what I use. I get a temperature read in 2 seconds. This thing is awesome. But I need a leave in probe for some leave in slow BBQ'ing. I've been meaning to look for one too.

Dual probe wireless, monitor from inside without opening hood or babysitting.

That looks good too. Incredible number of reviews almost perfect 5 stars. Price is reasonable. It doesn't integrate with Alexa though. No it isn't necessary, but I sometimes like gadget stuff.

You may want to check Walmart online also. I've been ordering there vs Amazon for much of my stuff. Amazon has become ridiculously slow in shipping and Walmart still offers free 2-day shipping on many items and same price or cheaper also takes Paypal if you click more when checking out and no Walmart account necessary.

Here is my new grill. Seasoned it a couple days ago and took it out for its inaugural run just yesterday. Did a flank steak with tequila lime cilantro garlic marinade (homemade). It was incredible. Used lump coal and mesquite chips.

Here is my new smoker:

Wow that is impressive! I'm still muddling along with a 25 year old Weber Genesis.

I have used the dual probe version of this for the last few years.  It's awesome.  Multiple communication modes, even allowing me to be out on the boat and monitoring the  ribs in the smoker!  https://www.icelsius.com/product/icelsius-wireless-summary-page

Ha, not with my boneless ribeyes... After grilling them for 40+ years, I merely go by the firmness of the steak when picking it up off the grate with my tongs. I can nail a temperature by just how "floppy" it is.

I've got a small gas Weber but have been thinking about stepping up to a pellet grill because they are so versatile barbecue, smoke, roast, and grill. The design keeps flareups to minium if not totally gone.  Grilling pellets are getting easier to find as popularity increases.

Anybody have any favorite YouTube Grilling/BBQ channels to share?

I just recently stumbled on Kosmo's Q and I have learned some nice tips:

+1  I've picked up quite a few tips from him. Great site.  Love that Carolina Gold mustard sauce.  :)
