More personal weather stations are starting to measure UV and Solar Radiation. I recently have started to more closely monitor UV levels as it pertains to keeping my skin from being damage from the sun and have become familiar with index readings as it relates to sun screen and protective clothing. I am not sure how the Solar Radiation plays into the skin damage aspect and if it is at all related somehow to UV index. Can Solar Radiation readings give me some additional information on the sun intensity that I can use or will UV along be only thing I need as it pertains to skin protection?
