Ecowitt 7-1 Pro Station - will not stop sending false rain data

Just bought the Ecowitt 7 in 1 station with the WS90 sensor this has the hepatic rain sensor. This WS90 sensor is different than described in the manual as it DOES NOT have a usb port to update the firmware which is displayed in the manual. Did they send me an older model? The problem..the display continuously is sending rain data which will not stop. The values just accumulate. I have updated the software in the HP 2564BU display unit, did a factory reset and reset the WS90 sensor all to no avail. Does anyone have or know of a fix for this problem?

As far as your firmware goes, I don't have your particular hardware.  And as you didn't specify what processes you used to make the changes you did, I'm just guessing here.

But, I would read the relevant sections here: https://meshka.eu/Ecowitt/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=start#the_upgrade_procedure
(with most browsers, once you have that page loaded, CTRL-F pops up a 'local search' tool that you can use to find phrases on that page.)

... and also install the WS View Plus app and explore using that to check/update firmware.

 Did you contact Ecowitt?

 Yes, the WS90 has a USB port. It is under the white rubber band.

Yes I did. Upgraded the firmware, reset the WS90 and the problem of constant data stopped for 2 days. First drops of rain yesterday and it started sending rain data continuously since yesterday.
Really, disappointed with this brand new unit.
