Hi!

There's a new firmware version V5.1.7 available for the EasyWeatherPro station.
Use the current WSView Plus app or the web interface (WebUI) of the EasyWeatherPro station ("Device Setting") to update.

Tropical Weather / Re: Rafael
« Last post by JesseLikesWeather on Today at 08:29:26 AM »
Some of the first Tropical Storm Watches have been issued for the Florida Keys, as some of the outer bands may impact the area. We are unsure if this hurricane will turn major, Category 1 is the forecast.

Some other forecast models predict that this storm could reach Category 2 or even Category 3, but I am staying careful with my belief's. Thoughts?

Hi Brian,

A year ago, I received an email from Josep’s son with the sad news of his passing. I was deeply affected by it, and it took me a while to come to terms with the loss.

I started my station, www.LaFloresta.cat, back in 2015 or 2016, always using your script and staying in direct contact with Josep. He was incredibly supportive, providing me with the necessary Catalan files. Your script has always been the best — beautiful, efficient, and easy to configure.

Josep also took the initiative to adapt it to the Catalan language.

I came across this thread https://forum.meteohub.de/viewtopic.php?p=46828#p46828, but since it’s locked for replies, I’m reaching out here.

I’m still running www.LaFloresta.cat with a Meteobridge and your script, in Catalan, of course. I understand that you may have moved on from the world of weather stations and no longer maintain your own station, but I want to express how grateful I am that you’re still here and continue to support the community.

As we discussed years ago, I’m more than willing to compensate you for your work on the script, whether through a yearly fee or another arrangement. Your script is truly worth paying for, and I know you’ve dedicated countless hours, just like Josep, to help the community. At the very least, I’d love to take you out for a nice dinner and a good glass of wine as a small token of appreciation.

I completely understand your decision to step away from the world of weather stations, and there’s no need for any justification — I support your choice.

I just want to say how grateful I am for everything. If you’re ever in Barcelona, my home is yours. I have an attached apartment (Airbnb) that you’re welcome to use if you decide to visit, and we can share that dinner, wine, and beers together here in www.LaFloresta.cat.

I do have one concern, though. Your "old" script is still running perfectly, but I worry about what might happen if it ever stops working due to technological changes or other issues. I’m not a programmer — I just love providing weather information to my neighbors — and I hope it continues to function for many more years.

By the way, I’ve installed Aurora, which I downloaded from the Meteobridge back office, and I’ve set it up on www.LaFloresta.cat/test to check how it looks.

I know you mentioned that it’s no longer available in other languages, only in English, and I completely understand. However, I would love to run www.LaFloresta.cat with the Aurora script in Catalan. What files would I need to modify? I don’t need multiple languages — just Catalan would be enough.

This would be a way to continue the amazing work that Josep started.

What do you think? Do you believe someone like me, without a programming background, would be able to translate Aurora into Catalan? This would be a nice continuation of "Meteo Sant Genis," just 10 km away from where Josep worked.

Thank you again for everything. I truly appreciate all your work and dedication to the community.

Abrazo

Gerald

Re: Weather34 Meteobridge Master Template Download
Post by weatherist34 » Thu Apr 27, 2023 7:29 pm

It is with much sadness that a long term contributor to this template passed away this month(15th April) .. Josep aka forum user "jmontamat" , Josep had been contributing to this template from 2015 at the very beginning, his suggestions, constructive feedback , often providing code to portray his ideas and picking up errors . He will be missed very much and I know he was suffering with multiple sclerosis for many years the template often kept him occupied , my mother was confined to a wheelchair for mobility for the last 15 years of her life(multiple sclerosis) so I fully related to Josep's situation and can understand why he put so much time and effort into his hobby .

RIP Josep thanks for everything ...may god bring you comfort and peace ...next version will have a simple honourable mention in the revision ..Aurora MKII (rev Josep May 2023) ,Aurora MKII (rev Josep June 2023) and so on..

All my gateways/consoles send directly to WU and are under 60 seconds refresh, except my observeip which tends to struggle at times. Even my WS2000 console is under 60 seconds.  Usually under 30.  According to the “last update” at WU.

Please clarify how you are pushing data to WU.   Are you doing it from the console to WU or through AWN to WU.

I took my iss down and cleaned it.. Put back together and now the wind direction is off 180 deg. How can i fix that without taking it back down..., and the rain reading did not clear at midnight.... Any help will be appreciated..

Yes, this is the latest v1.4.53 firmware version.

Interestingly, my console did not update automatically for this one. Instead, looking at the Device Information screen showed a green panel advising that v1.4.53 was available. Clicking this panel triggered a manual firmware download and update.

I'm wondering if this behaviour is down to the exact timing of when the new firmware is made available and the time difference from California to my own location (in the UK). Maybe the 2am time-point when the console automatically checks for new firmware had already passed when the new firmware was made available and so no automatic installation occurred. Perhaps if I had left the console alone then the automatic update would have happened tonight rather than last night?

TBH in my view the best thing that Davis could do for discussions about the 6313 UI is to start a channel on the Davis Weatherlink Discord server specifically focused on the 6313 UI.

I know the existing Discord server is primarily for developers but no obvious reason why this server (or a new 6313 dedicated one) couldn't also be harnessed for 6313 questions/suggestions. But would probably need someone other than Jeremy to manage it - he is probably busy enough already with Weatherlink API questions.

I think there was some confusion on the observation types.
Below the complete values for the RS-485 interface:

rainfall reporting frequency: every 8.7 seconds
wind speed reporting frequency: every 2 seconds
voltage reporting frequency: every 10 minutes

rainfall reporting means here nternal reading update
final reporting is only on console request which can be shorter or longer

However WU is refreshing every 10 minutes! While all the other Ambient weather WS models are updating every 14-18 seconds.
simple answer to the question "How to increase ws-2000 updates to weather underground?" is: you cannot

and don't confuse networks
- what your console displays is what it receives from the sensors network via radio frequency (RF) - in your case probably 915 MHz.
- what you see on AWN, WU etc. are data posted via your local LAN (WLAN ["WiFi"] to the internet and collected on the Weather Service websites.

posting and updating times in these different networks are different.

Console updates are defined by the update freqeuncy of the single sensors you have registered to your console (in a WS-2000 that's only a sensor array [WH65] and an indoor temp7Hum/pressure sensor [WH32B]).

(Weather Service) Website updates are defined by the posting frequency of the consoles which post and the processing rules of these website.

You can post as often (interval) as you want, maximum frequency  via Customized server would be probably every 8 or 16 seconds, but the weather services accept only a certain number of posts in a defined interval (1 minute - 5 minutes). Everything else will be discarded. It's their turf, their rules.
