Midway Through Hurricane Season - Inactive so far

(1/2) > >>

JesseLikesWeather:
We are halfway through the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season, and we have only seen 6 named storms, despite the forecasts calling for 20-25 named storms. Of course, we will continue to see tropical activity through the second half of the season, but the frequency will begin to decrease.

ocala:
So far looking like the forecasts have been a bust. AccuWeather has reduced their number of storms by 2.

Busted forecast is preferable to verification.

Update:
The Season now stands at 18 Named Storms, making this an above-average season.
Apparently a lot of seasons are tied as most active at 19 storms, but wouldn't be surprised if this season surpasses that number.

davidmc36:
Hasn't there been a lot of storms in The Pacific this year?

Philippines got slammed eh?
