Apparently they went off line at about 7:10PM EDT and came back on line at about 10:30PM EDT last night.  Such dependability from the IBM "cloud", or is that mud?

Still basically dead at 11:34 AM, South central WI. Current conditions are OK, but nothing else. Todays historical data is wrong , no charts or graphs.

The hysterical data for my station seems OK for yesterday, other than the slopes introduced by no data, and today looks, what passes for, normal.

I find it funny ( and sad ) that after all the IBM servers went down and came back up that WU has worked perfect since then . So all there lies about what the problem was for not updating properly for the last months could have been resolved with a simple reboot  [tup] . Someone should teach IBM about the old CTR- ALT-Delete function   #-o

Back from the dead...lost over three hours of data.  Typical IBM.  I really don't know why anyone uses them for anything these days.

Yep have to agree.  I really would love to see the Weather community just ditch WU altogether and help IBM put it out of its misery.  There are far better online services that just work for weather enthusiasts without any of the hassle that WU is provided us over the years.

Well 99% of Acurite pws users are locked into WU. And that's a lot of people. Is Acurite ever going to allow their customers to use the other weather upload sites by opening up their protocols? They've been stubborn to this day. Maybe a deteriorating WU will get them to change their policy.

the reason for the outage will most likely be, a disgruntled employee being told "YOU'RE FIRED" in which the irrate individual turned of all the servers before he went home lol

Wundermap is now showing COVID-19 cases by county, so I don't think WU is ready to go away.

Also the 2nd home page using modified AltDashboard 6.95 at http://stillwaterweather.com/2ndhome.php

Well, we can groan and moan about WU, and IBM, but it looks like the problem wasn't identically with either.

https://www.crn.com/news/cloud/ibm-blames-massive-cloud-outage-on-third-party-network-provider
https://www.computerweekly.com/news/252484450/IBM-Cloud-users-demand-further-clarity-over-cause-of-global-outage

Of course, even so, a major cloud ought to more resilient to such issues.

Sounds kinda like a BGP screwup from an external provider misdirecting packets. Two years ago, Google went down because of this. Such BGP misconfigs are things that IBM ought to have measures in place to prevent.

The Covid-19 feature is broken in the UK just like most of WU's services :)

I see COVID cases in Wundermap for the whole world. In the U.S. it's shown county-by-county (if you zoom all the way in), state-by-state if zoomed further out. Outside the U.S., and fully zoomed out in the U.S. it's country-by-country.

WU stopped updating my station about an hour ago (0855 EDT). I see just a few stations in my area so I guess I'm not alone.

Yup. The good news is the the servers are successfully accepting data. This means that it is only a front end (web page display) problem. The back end (ingest servers) is working and in the past when this would happen the data eventually shows and there are no gaps, no missing data.
