Hello all,

I am using a Raspberry PI with WeeWx to run the Meteotemplate package on my website. WeeWx's FTP connection to my server is timing out after 3 tries. All other platforms such as WU, CWOP, Weather Bug, PWS Weather, etc. are working. I contacted my web host and gave them the PI's IP address. After they checked over their end they concluded my Pi's address was not blocked. They also noted they could not even see it trying to connect to the server (which is odd). I went through the config in WeeWx just to make sure all my settings were correct. I did not see anything wrong in there. I did a server check through the Main Setup page in Meteotemplate; all tests passed. I have rebooted the PI several times and let it sit for extended periods. My other weather station located in the next town over is working fine. Same exact setup. Meteotemplate is working perfectly for that station. Both stations share the same server but use different folders. I've been running this setup since 2017 and have never had an issue like this. I am scratching my head with this one.

when you run a FTP client on your RPi and manually send (any test) data to your host where your MT installation resides, do/does the file/s arrive ?

what when you create a weewx test directory on your host e.g. weewx-test under your web root and post the weewx
files from your weewx report directory into that test directory (index.html plus the graphics files) ?
do the files arrive ? can you see them in your browser http(s)://host-domain/weewx-test ?

weewx will create your MT data somewhere before you send them via FTP
what if you ftp them manually - always from your RPi to have the same origin ?
do they arrive ? are they processed (check the apiLog.txt file)

this doesn't look like a MT problem, more like a network issue, be it at your end or at your hosting end.

Yes when I manually FTP using Filezilla the files arrive no problem. I have contacted my host several times and the IP address is not blocked and we've verified my settings are correct. I don't know what else to do.

did you try to empty the station data cache on the MT admin page ?

I just did that and it didn't help.

I just went through the same type of issue with an  RPi that has been sending a weather camera image to my ISP. It has run every 15 minutes since 2016 without any problems. Then it stopped working.  I could send the file via Windows/Filezilla without problem.  The message that I was seeing from the automated script was similar to 'unable to establish a connection '.

My solution was to change the 'ftp' command to use 'passive' mode.

Passive mode is already turned on in my configuration.

Does anyone have the downloaded Zip of the Meteotemplate  that they can email me?

I tried to get from Jachym on the site where u need to enter a Token to download but havent heard from him as of yet so I can download from his site.
