Title: Boltek LD-250 For Sale :: Update- SOLD!!
Post by: miraculon on May 02, 2020, 02:14:31 PM
The flange cleaned up pretty well with the rust remover.

Using my giant channel-lock pliers and the vise, I was able to get the flange off. The 90° Elbow will now fit into a box that I have. I have the flange soaking in rust remover, it is looking a lot better, but eliminating it will save shipping weight and reduce the cost to mail the unit. (FYI, it is a 1" pipe thread)

It might be better to get your own flange, but I could include it, remaining rust-and-all if you insist.

Here is the picture of the Elbow with the flange off:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Per my previous post, Assessing interest in a Boltek LD-250 (https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=38992.0) I finally got it removed and cleaned up a bit.
Notable caveats/comments:
It was working just prior to taking down. It was responding to local noise and identified as such.
I had to chop out chunks of the Shielded Cat 5 cable, so you are on your own for providing a cable. I highly recommend STP Cat 5, not the unshielded garden variety stuff. Boltek will tell you the same thing.
The mount and housing consists of standard 3" PVC pipe and reducers. I never glued the cap and bottom amp housing. There were some bug carcasses, but I got them all cleaned out and there were no consequences. The friction fit was fine for several years, winters, storms and what have you. The reducer and electrical "Ell" PVC sections were indeed glued. The iron flange has rusted badly and I cannot get the threaded PVC to budge. You can get new PVC parts and re-do, or try rust remover and paint if you like. I'll leave that up to you. (the size and weight will increase shipping charges if this part is included)
There is a slight peeling of the back label. Since generally you don't look at this side, probably not an issue.
I will include the USB/Serial adapter and serial cable. (I have a bunch of them and I can spare this one)
I have a Brother label conveniently labelled "N" for North to facilitate orientation.
Shipping will be whatever USPS calculates for the box/weight. I would prefer not to deal with international shipping and customs. Sorry about that, so US only.
Best offer over $200 takes it. I'll have it available until next Saturday, May 9. Let's make it 2 PM EDT.
Well, since I have no responses so far, even from those who expressed interest, I'll change this to $200 O.B.O., meaning that I will entertain offers below $200 if reasonable. (I don't want to give it away)
I'll give it another week here, before I put it on eBay. Best offer, if any, by 2:00 PM EDT on the 16th takes it.
I suspect that the economic/Covid situation is at play here. I know people have higher priorities these days.
