UV reading issues
« on: November 22, 2023, 11:24:57 AM »
I recently notice that my VP2 is showing a UV reading of 16, but there isn't a UV sensor as part of my station. It's sending this measurement to WU and I think anyone viewing would know it's an error, but still annoying nonetheless. Any possible fix? All my connections on the ISS are in their proper port.

That may be the case. My ISS is old but it sat in the original box, brand new, for probably 10 years before I bought it and installed it. It's only been in operation for about 4 months total.

Surely it can't just be an age problem, if it hasn't been used. . .?

I suppose. I'm not gonna really lose sleep over it. If other measurements start to fail, I'll probably have to replace the board.

i wonder if you could just short out the pins for the UV board?  Just a thought...

Update: The glitch has stopped...for now. I will keep an eye on it and might just have to swap out the board if it comes up again.

When there is no data, then WiFILogger can see it as NULL. NULL it is not 0 (ZERO). NULL means there is no sensor.
If ISS is making measurment and it thinks that there is valid data on this socket, then it is automaticly becoming not NULL and in same time this is valid data to spread it everywhere over the Internet.

In WiFILogger it is simple routine. NOT NULL means SEND it.
Unfortunatly if you have ISS infected by worms, humidity, or other issues, then it can be painfull for you to make it straight.
Unfrotunatly for you, logic in WiFiLogger is proper. You need to restore normal functionality of your Davis station.
