Davis temperature sensor orientation
« on: February 15, 2020, 08:05:44 AM »
Is there any importance in the orientation of the Davis temperature/humidity sensor with the daytime fan? Will the fan be less or more efficient when the sensor is orientated upward/downward, or is there no difference? Due to a problem I couldn't install the sensor upside down (like in the guide, pic included) so it now faces upward. I asked my reseller and he said that's only done so any dew runs off it.

I have also noticed my temperature sensor seems to be less responsive to quick temperature changes at night than it was before (used to be higher up in the shield and facing downward, now it's on second of bottom place facing upward to accomodate fan). Do any of you think it would be more responsive to temp changes if it was facing upward? I have contacted my reseller and I can get the parts for 10-20$ so it's not a big cost but obviously I won't do it if there's no effect.
