For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. South of the Southern Coast of Mexico (EP90):
Showers and thunderstorms are gradually becoming better organized
near a broad area of low pressure located several hundred miles
south of the coast of southern Mexico.  While the system
currently lacks a well-defined circulation, environmental
conditions are favorable for further development, and a tropical
depression or tropical storm is expected to form during the next
day or two as the low moves generally west-northwestward at around
10 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...90 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...high...90 percent.

This is the first tropical disturbance in the East Pacific Basin for the 2025 East Pacific Hurricane Season. Most models show future Alvin going into Mexico, but of course, this is several days out.

As of 9:40 AM CDT, Tropical Storm Alvin has been named. It won't be doing much in the East Pacific, but may bring some rainfall to Central & Western Mexico.
