I think, as long as the new one you buy, transmits on the same frequency, you should be ok.

In my case, I had a digitech outdoor unit that failed, and I purchased a Holman unit. The new Holman outdoor and indoor models used the same band, and now I have the old digetech and the new Holman indoor screens both receiving the data from the one transmitter.

Just look up wwhat your unit uses now, and purchase a new one matching your old frequency.
