2007 Advanced Skywarn Training
« on: February 02, 2007, 12:02:10 PM »
I'll just post the email I received and the PDFs.

Hi all,

Just to let you know, IMO Skywarn will be hosting the 2007 edition of Advanced Spotter Training at Elkhart Central High School. The date is Saturday March 10, 2007. There is a $25 fee with registration to cover fees associated with speakers, food and facilities (goes up to $30 after Feb 15). While the NWS does not host the training directly, it fully and highly endorses it. We have members who sit on committee positions to assist with the development of the training, but all the funding and the majority of the work is performed by volunteers from the ham radio community from all over our forecast area. Recommended pre-requisites of this course are those that have attended a NWS basic spotter training class with in the last 3 years and/or have a strong understanding of storm spotting and meteorology.
We are asking that you spread the news of this event to those whom you deem would be interested.

For more details about this training opportunity and for registration forms, please go to the IMO Sky warn web site <http://imoskywarn.org/> or use the attached forms.

The advertising committee of this endeavor have mailed fliers to various ham clubs, first responders, and past participants, (generally within 200 miles of Elkhart) so some of your contacts may already be aware of the event .

This is the only advanced spotter training we do in our forecast area for the next two years. It is offered once every two years due to the amount of work it takes to prepare for this event. Please let those individuals know about this training opportunity.

Thanks!
Steve Eddy
