Regarding the position, you will have to compromise as usual with a sensor array.
Mine is now 2m above ground to be in the proper position for T/H and rain readings.
And the plastic is very stable. The same material already has done a good job with a manual rain gauge of mine, exposed to up to 120 km/h winds (exceptional but survived

).
If you want the three sensors (temperature, wind, rain) in the optimal position, you better go for the single sensor version:
WS80 (wind - and more), WH40 (rain) and a WH32(-EP) for T/H where you can place each of the three accordingly.
