I have a couple RM Young 05103 monitors on my tower.  For years it happily fed a Texas Weather Instruments 8000 without a hitch.  As far as I know, I've not put in any new AC devices (except an OLED TV) or dimmers or welders or whatever.  Unknown if there are neighbors (5 acre lots) with anything new.

A few years ago I had noticed that, with no temporal pattern that the wind speed would take off to 100 mph or more.  This makes almost all data unusable, and certainly embarrassing to publish on the net, and negates MesoWest sharing.

At first it was rare, but now seems to happen daily.  I had swapped out the TWI 8000 for a WRL32 with minimal if any noticeable help.

I tried sticking my scope on it to watch and not having time to be in the shop all the time, and when these errors occur they are only for a few seconds to a minute at most, so I've not seen anything. 

I've tried to put a ferrite choke over the input closest to the display, with no benefit, but I only had access to one style and frequency.

The Young manual only speaks to length of cable for the direction vane, nothing about the speed sensor.

I should have mentioned that the monitor puts out 3 AC pulses sine wave per rotation, and the output is 90 Hz or 1800 rpm at 19.7 mph, but I don't have any amplitude numbers to give.

Any thoughts from others using these about errors introduced by electrical noise?  Lightning doesn't affect it.

I know this post is a few years old but from what I read it looked like you were using the standard output variant. I don't have any experience with Texas Weather Instruments but I have dabbled around with wind monitors.

How old is the 05103 you were using? Is the circuit board in good condition? If the only issue you were having is with wind speed and you changed data receivers and still had issues, it might've be the transducer assembly. This or something was going wrong on the circuit board. Another possibility is the cable run causing issues, I'm not sure what the recommended limit on length for that would be but something else to consider.

Albeit late I hope this helps in any regard.

Edit: The only time I ever had issues with signals coming from a 05103 was when I destroyed the V output circuit board in one of mine trying to wire it up to a 26700 display. Ended up routing +12 through the WS output because the labeling on the back of the display was nonexistent. Was really dumb of me but you live and learn. I doubt you were incorrectly wiring your sensor given it reported correct observations 99% of the time.
