Auto reboot - new option in WiFiLogger
« on: May 19, 2021, 02:49:00 PM »
If you like you have update your WiFiLogger to the newest firmware 2.38.
In Setup->System you will find new option which allow WiFiLogger to auto reboot at specified hour once per day.

Sleep mode is not working anymore since WiFiLogger2 has external watchdog chip on board. So this option is wiped out.

Great news but I have a question. I have wifilogger 1, version 2.38 keeps all the options of 2.36 ??? That is, does uploading to Globe etc work?

Is this something that should interest me? I'm not sure what the purpose is.

All I do with WFL is it runs and runs and runs lol

Meteobridge picks it up from the network and I do all the uploading from there.

WFL never seems to miss a beat.

Some users have problem with WiFiLogger after 2-3 days.
I do believe it depends on router.
Maybe controlled reboot will help.

I confirm that everything works. I couldn't try http://meteoclimatic.atmos.cat/ because apparently at the moment they don't accept the registration of stations on Italian soil

This 2,38 version is really worthwhile, it largely resolves the problem with WFLs leaving gaps in the data every day or so. In a side-by-side test, one Pro2 Console/WFL with version 2.36 missed 19 hours in 19 days while another Pro2 Console using WFL 2.38 and auto-reboot lost only 6 minutes (for details see topic=41295.msg430975#msg430975).

However, I don't agree that the lost transmissions issue is down to problems with the router. Both my WFLs were communicating with the same router at the same time. The router itself is an RNLI Cisco Enterprise device costing priced in thousands of euro. And surely, if it was due to the router, rebooting the WFL would not affect the problem.
