FOSCAM F19900P connection issue wunderground
« on: October 23, 2020, 12:50:05 PM »
Hello all. Newby here on the website.
I just purchased this IP cam and I am trying to get it on my wunderground account with no success. The camera is online and I can see it and when I go to camera settings online and do the test it says success on the camera page, but the green/red dot on wunderground stays red and says offline for the cam.

Can someone please walk me through getting connected? Thank you!

Quite likely a waste of time. I have that camera. Used to load to WU just fine.

WU is broken. There is slim chance you will see your camera there.

But if you do FTP test and it says OK but no pictures uploading......just wait a day or two.....it MIGHT appear.

I am pretty much done with WU. Cameras are working great on Ambient Weather.

Once I figure out how to get Weewx actually on web with my second station and Raspberry/MeteoPi I will be laughing. Got it all installed but there us some stuff about web serving with Apache etc. that I have not mastered yet.

I recently changed my upload method to WU, in effect deleted the existing cam and added a new one (hence the 2 in the cam name) works no problem  :-)

Make sure your image file size isn't to big, if it is then it will appearvto be uploading ok, but nothing will show.

  • Use the ftp method. To rely on WU to do something is an exercise in frustration.
  • Use a debug on the ftp command so you can see that you connect to a working server and it is accepting your UserID/Password. You will see that WU has accepted your file:

    220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [privsep] [TLS] ----------
220-You are user number 485 of 10000 allowed.
220-Local time is now 03:00. Server port: 21.
220-This is a private system - No anonymous login
220 You will be disconnected after 60 seconds of inactivity.
331 User WU_USER_ID OK. Password required
    230-OK. Current directory is /
    230-0 files used (0%) - authorized: 100 files
    230 0 Kbytes used (0%) - authorized: 1024 Kb
200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary
    local: image.jpg remote: image.jpg
    200 PORT command successful
    150 Connecting to port 56171
    226-1 files used (1%) - authorized: 100 files
    226-21 Kbytes used (2%) - authorized: 1024 Kb
    226-File successfully transferred
226 0.588 seconds (measured here), 36.19 Kbytes per second
    21780 bytes sent in 0.00 secs (32.0541 MB/s)
221-Goodbye. You uploaded 22 and downloaded 0 kbytes.
    221 Logout.

  • When you are successfully transferring a file, then you just wait until it shows on your page. It is totally out of your control and may take 0-10 days.
  • Use different browsers and OS to check - if I look at my station page with Win10/Chrome it will always give the "No Data" message.

But if I look using Android/Chrome all the data is there. [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
