Thank you to SKYWARN observers
« on: April 08, 2009, 12:18:20 PM »
I have a police/fire scanner on which I always listen to the SKYWARN observers and I just wanted to thank all for the time you give to make us all so much safer from severe weather and tornadoes.  There have been more than a few times when I have heard important information on my radio from the SKYWARN network.
     I applaude all of you,everywhere :!: =D> =D> =D>
                                Thanks again,  Mark

I'll second that. =D> \:D/ I'm also a trained spotter and wish I could afford to spend more time spotting that I do.

Thanks,
Anthony

Know where you are coming from Anthony!
If we do have a significant weather event for my county the NWS in Blacksburg will normally call during the even if it's bad enough or shortly after to get a grip on what happened in the area. I sure appreciate them having enough faith in me as a trained spotter to ask!

Sounds like south of us there may be some  Spotting weather developing for Friday afternoon. Nothing significant forecast for my county though yet :)

I made a SkyWarn report last night when we were issued a tornado warning!
That was something...but not much of an "Event" right overhead in my location, but to the Northeast...wow! :!:

I did a spotter class tonight (I think it was my 3rd, mebbe 4th)
I'm at the point where I know the trick questions and corny jokes.

Now if it would only rain or something.........
