Topic: Radar Images Dead (8/13/22) WUNDIS Map

Okay, I'm looking to replace my animated radar map on my web page. WU as apparently said FU to their WUNDIS Map. Here's what used to display. It's a complicated link but you'll see the results:

EDIT: I also tried the old faithful "type-NCR" again to no avail. In fact it's been broken since 8/4/22 for ATX.

Does anyone have a replacement map (jpg/gif) for a small 800px x 600px animated, or even static, radar map based on NEXRAD stations?

BTW: a similar map embedded in WU page https://www.wunderground.com/radar/us/wa/seattle-tacoma/atx which shows 'Down For Maintenance' since 3/2/22.

Yeah, that was my conclusion as well. I gave up giving WU my data almost a year ago. Time to put a bigger fork in it, it's done.

You'll need to use the NWS version (not as nice, but free to use):

https://radar.weather.gov/ridge/lite/{RADARCALLSIGN}_loop.gif

Replace {RADARCALLSIGN} with the 4 character call sign of the radar site.  For my area, it's KMUX so the URL would be https://radar.weather.gov/ridge/lite/KMUX_loop.gif

You can easily the radar call sign by:
1) open browser to weather.gov
2) search for your town, state
3) note small image at bottom of forecast page, right click on it and "Open image in new tab"
4) the new full image (non animated) is displayed in the address bar.
5) replace the _0 with _loop and you've got the URL.
