Topic: Atlas Wind Cup Replacment

I'm trying to replace the wind cups On my Atlas since the wind direction isn't working. I placed the cups on the shaft 3 times but apparently not correctly. As you can see by the attached documentation under #3 it is very unclear when it says align THEM, what is it referring to? Has anyone done this & can they make it clearer. It's very difficult to remove them each time.

The wind cups just sit on the wind vane shaft and should spin freely.

The underside of the wind vane itself has a flat section that should match the flat section on the vane shaft. Match flat sections and press into place and it should snap into place and spin freely.

I think part 2 and 3 refers to wind cups disassemble and assemble.
There is a flat part to be aligned, then press the wind cups
