Month by Month script?
« on: October 19, 2012, 10:50:47 AM »
Hi guys,

I have seen an example here: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/chrisholland/weather/monthlyrecord.htm of a month by month records.

Does anyone know where you can obtain this from? Does it come with Cumulus v1.9.3 and do I have to update to it?

Thanks

Will

Yes you do need to upgrade to version 1.9.3.  I suggest reading through this thread over on the cumulus forum: http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7341

and there will be some editing to do:

1. Open the new monthly records editor (on the Edit) menu
2. Click the 'fetch dayfile data' button, select the tab for each month in turn and click the 'copy' button in the header row to copy the dayfile data
3. Click OK.

Additionally, by upgrading to version 1.9.3, your twitter feed will update again.

lastly, you should be posting these questions over on the cumulus forum.  You should also spend time reading the wiki and help sections.

Hi Will,

I think this page was introduced by Steve in Cumulus 1.9.3 beta build 1033

Here is the link :

http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7341

You can see it (translated in french) on my page :

HI Kerry and Marcel,

But, if I download v1.9.3 that means all my data will disappear won't it?

Will,

Your data will not disappear, but it is good practice to back it up anyways.

Will,

No.  I have upgraded several times and have not lost any data. Upgrading is a very simple process. That said, backup your cumulus data folder - it's good practice - and you will have the data if anything goes wrong.

Hi Kerry,

No luck, it said I'd had about 950 mm today! What!!!!

Gone back to v1.9.2 with no errors for the moment, why did that happen?

Hi Will,

Not sure, but I did notice you are using an old version of build 1.9.2.  I suggest upgrading to the latest build of version 1.9.2, which is version 1032 (I think), and then if that works, try version 1.9.3.

If that does not work I suggest posting your query over on the sandaysoft forum.

Hi Kerry,

Nothing has happened since...gone back to v1.9.2 for the time being... :(

I looked at monthlyrecord.htm but it showed nothing except for October and I'd done what you'd said...

Hi Will,

It seems your weatherstyle.css file is missing on your website !

I suppose you have installed the new software version including the new (blank) HTML templates.

If this is exact, please copy the content of the web directory from the backup you have done prior to new installation, following Kerry's advice, in the new Cumulus web directory.

Regards,

Marcel

In the future, for each new Cumulus upgrade, you will need to clear (untick? uncheck?) the HTML templates.

Hi there,

But, I'm not using sandaysoft's i'm using the AJAX/PHP site, so I don't need that file!

What I'm trying to do is put the monthlyrecord.htm file in one of my AJAX pages like i've done for my records.

But thanks! I just realized that index.htm had replaced index.php so it was displaying Cumulus standard site and not the AJAX/PHP site! Just deleted index.htm and all is well again! :D

Thanks for that! :D
