Process an image in Cumulus
« on: August 21, 2012, 04:20:45 AM »
Hi there,

I am trying to upload an image through the Configuration....Internet...Files page in Cumulus. But no luck. The image has written tags in which I put in using "Paint"'s Text editor. I deslected Binary because I wanted it to process the tags. Still no luck.

I have also posted on Sandaysoft's forum! http://sandaysoft.com/forum

Please help.

Thanks

Sorry Will, what you're trying to do with Paint in images won't work because the weather software can only process text files to replace tags .. the text inside of images is just light/dark pixels and can't be recognized as text to replace.

Some weather software does have the ability to generate graphics files with weather tags (like Weather-Display and WeatherCat), but most folks use something like Anole's PHP script (which you are already using for your banner) to create a image with weather values in it.

Best regards,
Ken

The link you showed is produced by Weather-Display software using a custom configuration .. won't work with Cumulus.

You'll need to experiment with a copy of your banner.php to get stuff moved around to produce something similar .. it's something for which I have no comparable example.  Sorry :(
