VWS and Heavyweather
« on: November 14, 2007, 08:02:37 PM »
I have a La Crosse WS-2308 and i wse heaveyweather to upload to VWS.
I have noticed that VWS does not keep up with heavyweather, the wind speed is way behind.
I went into the communication settings in VWS and i have the right model selected.
I have the rate set at 1 second but it does not seem to update at this speed.
Is ther anyway for VWS to communicate with my PWS without heaveyweather?
I am running V13.01 p9 internet edition.
Thanks

I use neither Heavy Weather nor a LaX station. However, how frequently does your LaX console receive data from its sensor suite? Does it receive data as frequently as 1 second intervals?

Well, as I said, I don't use a LaX or Heavy weather, but why would you upload data every 1 second if the station itself collects and transmits data only every 8 seconds? (Maybe I don't understand your question.)

If I watch VWS and heavyweather at the same time I notice that the wind speed may change speed 3 or 4 times before it changes on VWS.  My question is why isn't VWS keeping up with heavyweather?

The way VWS communicates with HW is by HW's history file which only updates every minutes. There are no settings, either in HW or VWS, to change this feature. I think now, however, you can use a LaCrosse station directly with VWS without HW, but I'm not the person to ask about that because I use WD. :-P
