Moral of the story is to always keep a winter survival kit in your vehicle. Heck, a survival kit in your vehicle any time of the year. You never know......

Yes that is a good thing to rember.

Ditto that. I'm seldom more than six miles from home during bad weather but I keep a pair of thermal coveralls, rubber boots, raincoat, and a couple blankets year round and when it gets into the single digit temps a large parka. Assuming I don't get injured for some reason before getting stranded I figure I have enough clothes to walk home without catching a chill. ;)
Always amazes me how many people you see with stalled cars or in an accident during the winter without a heavy coat and/or pair of shoes with them in case they have to be outside in the cold for a spell.

I keep a sealed plastic tub in my Avalanche with enough supplies (MREs, bottled water, Sterno, matches, thick socks, space blanket, utensils, trash bags, toiletries etc) to keep me going for 2-3 days.

LOL
Just gotta love those MRE's. The Jumbalya (sp) will make quick use out of those toiletries! #-o

Well I must say it has been a while since we have had a winter like this. But still it is good to rember to have a kit in the car.
