max temp for WN30 sensor
« on: October 06, 2022, 02:12:43 PM »
hi, the max temperature for the WN30 is listed as +60oC

https://www.ecowitt.com/shop/goodsDetail/104

its a bit suspicious because its the same as the other sensors that don't have the external probe, so i suspect that temperature max includes the body of the sensor?

I'm using this for a clothes dryer automation where I'm placing just the probe in the exhaust heat pipe. I don't know how hot it will get, but only the probe will be exposed to such temperatures.

or, the probe just contains the same temperature sensor type as the WH31.

You'll have to find out by experiment I guess ...

Hi!

The WN30 has a 60°C cut off. Means: the max temperature measured (and displayed and sent) is 60°C.

thanks, all for your answers.

Indeed 60oC is the max but, its fine for me as I'm using for an automation (in Home Assistant) that tells me when my dryer in done drying the clothes. Usually when it drops below 45oC, it stops drying.

I haven't measured it, but I think my dryer can go as high as 85oC but will likely be around 65oC for most times.
