ecowitt vs froggit
« on: October 14, 2021, 05:49:22 AM »
As I read those two should be like the same hardware.
But when I check additional sensors ecowitt have particle sensor and many others which froggit doesn't have.
what is a chance to buy froggit and use ecowitt sensors? I am from EU that's why I am asking. Or is it possible to buy ecowitt in EU?

Yes, you can intermix Ecowitt and Froggit sensors as long as you choose the same frequency.
Froggit use 868Mhz.
You can either buy from Ecowitt directly in china via www.ecowitt.com or via Amazon. Amazon UK holds some Ecowitt kit if you are able to buy from there.

thank you.
I have ordered froggit, because they send from germany and I don't have to pay import taxes.
I will maybe later order some sensors from ecowitt.
I can buy on amazon but I didn't find any ecowitt I like

does anyone use weewx for their own web site?
or is there some alternative like weewx?

I'd say meteotemplate ( no dedicated hardware required, only online web server, even those free are ok )

Your ecowitt/froggit station can directly upload to your website, in parallel with uploading to WU, and others.

You can then use a dashboard like PWS_Dashboard without a weather program 24 hours / 7 days.

Demo site with this setup at https://pwsdashboard.be/pwsWD/index.php?theme=dark
More info and links to discussion area/forum at https://pwsdashboard.com/

If you order also a Dp1500 from froggit you can use weather programs such as WeatherDisplay, Meteobridge and others.
I think WEEWX can also read directly from other froggit consoles.

Succes with your new station,

Wim

I run both meteotemplate and PWSDashboard.  You can see both here:
https://www.jeffersonweather.com  Meteotemplate
https://pws.jeffersonweather.com  PWSDashboard
https://pws.relianceweather.com  my buddy's PWSDashboard

Both templates are awesome!  It's all about how you want your site to look.  I'm currently favoring the look of PWSDashboard for cleanliness, but my meteotemplate site is a nerd haven of blocks and information.
