Yes, which is why I thought at least someone would also be accepted, but so far no-one outside US or Canada seems to have been approved for this. I myself tried applying too and no-one ever got back to me.

That's sad.  Perhaps the ones we see (and there's a lot), they actually bought theirs...?

I hope you get one.

UPS shows my new Bloomsky will arrive on Monday - 2/15 - YAHOO!  \:D/

One question though. In the User Guide, on the first page I see a list of accessories. One of them intrigue me - Indoor Weather Station. See the attached image. Has anyone seen these?

Davis Wireless VP2, WD 10.37s150,

Has anyone mounted this on a triangular antenna tower?

I would think it would be best to mount the bracket on a separate metal mounting plate sized for your tower and then attached to the tower itself.

The indoor weather station was an option during their Kickstarter, but I don't think they sold many and dropped it shortly after they went live.

I made it under the wire.  Thanks, lijun!  Got an email from BloomSky with a UPS tracking code.  As mentioned above, paid US$19.99 for shipping.  I'll wait and see what the HST hit is going to be once UPS clears it through Canadian customs.

Now, to scope out a good spot with a view of the lake.  Hmmm. -27 with a breeze making wind chills in the minus 40's.... Perhaps I'll wait til it warms up.

Congrats Chris, do ya think you're going to meet the 7 days to get it up and running ;)   Here I might have to request an extension, especially if you check our SW Ontario radar and see that Lake Huron snow squall continuing - now in its 3rd day...

Enjoy,
Paul

Well, it isn't here yet so I have a chance. It's supposed to moderate here towards the end of next week too.  2 degrees next Saturday in the forecast.  Go figure.  Strange winter so far.

I'll let you know how it goes.  As far as your place, do you have a balaclava and snowshoes?  :-)

Cheers!

Chris

UPS tracking shows mine to arrive on Wednesday.  Interesting.  I chose the least expensive of the shipping options but still got UPS Ground.
Current setup: Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus Wireless

Reecom R-1650
Sangean CL-100
Uniden Home Patrol I

UPS is less expensive than USPS on heavy packages.

Here's mine:   https://map.bloomsky.com/weather-stations/eaB1rJytnpS4rpyz

And I have added everyone here, I believe. Pretty interesting little unit. Will see how it matches up with my Davis.

One question. Does anyone know what the wireless range is on these things? Mine is currently attached to my veranda, which is on concrete. Looking to put it on a 4X4 fence post soon, but the distance will be about 80'-100' from the router.

I have put you on my favorites John.

For me it looks like the range is about 65' to 75' with the router 10' from a patio door and straight line of sight.

Hope it helps,

Filled out the request form yesterday, and got an email today that I've been accepted.  Now, just need to find out shipping and potential duties before I join.
The UPS charges and tax came to $45.48 (I think C$ as my wife was home and used CC) $30.20 brokerage fee and $15.28 HST.  The HST was calculated at 13% on the brokerage $30.20 plus the value for duty $87.42.  The $87.42 is U$63.00 U$ at C$1.3872 exchange.

I notice that there is now a note in the Bloomsky Help on the customs and shipping cost https://bloomsky.desk.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2333356-customs-brokerage-fees-for-community-outreach-participants

Overall, not disappointed.

Thanks for the info Paul.

I've decided I'm not going to go through the hoops of getting one afterall, even though I was accepted.  My main interest in the system was to have another camera, as the "weather" part of the Bloomsky just seemed to be redundant to my Davis, and I wasn't that keen on the restrictions around access to the data from the system.  I'm going to save the shipping costs to put towards another Hik to mount on my roof.

I got mine yesterday.  It was already dark by the time I got to mess with it, so I just charged it up and put it in the ground temporarily.   So far I am impressed with it.  The temperature has been within a degree of my Davis most of the time.

I went through with it as well even though I already have a Davis station out back.  Seems like a nifty piece of equipment.  The promo was good so why not?  :)
