Visiting San Diego this past week.  Went to visit the Point Loma Lighthouse.  On the north side of the visitor's center, there was this array of equipment....

Now there is a rain gauge that looks indestructible...

This is a stantard 8" manual rain gauge for the use of coop observers. I will be becoming a coop member in May.
