Dry contact rain gauge
« on: August 12, 2020, 03:31:32 PM »
Hello,

I'm looking for a new dry contact rain gauge and while searching a decent and affordable one (not really easy to find) I found this : "A new type of self-balancing tipping bucket mechanism has been designed by BARANI DESIGN Technologies for their MeteoRain line of rain gauges which alleviates the tipping bucket mechanism’s sensitivity to residual water drop errors, high rain rate errors, vibration induced errors and errors due to gravity when the rain gauge is mounted not completely horizontal.  Barini Design is from Slovakia ! See   https://www.baranidesign.com/precipitation-measurement

As I could not find more details about their equipment, nor dealers in America (it seems they they have 2 USA dealers but I could'nt find them), I exchanged emails with Barrini design and understood that, up until now, they were in the professionnal line only. Did someone tried their rain gauge or know something about this new technology ? Did someone know the USA dealers,  I will ask them for the USA dealers.  Slovakia to Canada shipping is prohibitive !
