Well, NOAA is a government organization. Anything associated with government takes a long time to correct and usually with miles of red tape.
Don't anticipate things getting better soon.
Do agree with the assessment of the HRRR.
Outstanding model. I'll also add the family of Goes Satellites are light years better then their predecessors.

I'm sure any changes will have to percolate through whatever entities.  But I did hear they changed the way they are predicting severe weather now, I got an email from the local skywarn group yesterday about that, its going to be a 48 hour prediction now instead of 24, among other things.

I think I'm one of the few that actually reads the updates that get posted, as I've seen a lot of surprised looks on many people at meetings when stuff like this comes up.... 

But I think its a good idea.  It will help a lot with potential spotter planning too.  48 hours notice is much better than 24, though I'm sure it will result in a higher percentage of them being a little off, and people will whine.  People still don't get the fact weather isn't an exact science.  Especially in tornado alley...storms often show up sooner or later than predicted.  Its just the way it is, honestly.  I know the local news guys always get people calling and complaining.  They can only report with what the data they have says, people....

On each CWA page there is a link at the top that says Multimedia Weather Impact Briefing.
I was looking at the Jacksonville page yesterday and they were already talking about a possible severe event for Thursday. No warnings, just a heads up, 5 days in advance. Never seen that before. But then again I am a model watcher so I had an idea something was in the works.
