Midwest Derecho 8/10/20

<< < (2/2)

CW2274:

--- Quote from: Farmtalk on August 16, 2020, 07:47:06 PM ---I remember being impacted significantly by the Ohio Valley Derecho of June 2012. No power for over 2 weeks and temperatures in the 90s and 100s with dew points in the 60s and 70s - it was a tough time.

Two WEEKS! I literally just lost power moments ago for 28 minutes and I was just about ready to slit my throat... #-o

My daughters weather station in Cedar Rapids up until the UPS battery depleted. She will have to show this to her 4th grade class when school starts in a couple weeks.

I live in Marion Iowa (Cedar Rapids area). Almost every property has some degree of damage. I lost 6 trees, a privacy fence, shingles on 3 sides of my roof. I was without power and internet for 8 days. Some people still don't have power on day 12. Clean up and repair will take a long time in this area.

106 MPH. Wow! Love to see weather changes graphically. Of course not this drastic.
