Title: NWS API Contact info
Post by: daneast on February 14, 2021, 09:45:07 AM
Can anyone provide contact information for someone at the NWS in regards to API access? I need to discuss with them best practices, API rate limits, etc.  I also need to determine if there are lower level (perhaps binary) data sources that can be used for the consumption of forecast data in greater quantities.  Thanks

I suggest you post them as questions on https://github.com/weather-gov/api/issues . The developers respond there to issues/questions.
Both JJKraw and I have had success there.

That makes three different kinds of issues I've opened there with no response (besides someone else agreeing they have the same issue). Any actual contact information?

The API docs at https://www.weather.gov/documentation/services-web-api#/

say

Operational issues should be reported to nco.ops@noaa.gov.

General use questions can be asked on the API github site (https://github.com/weather-gov/api).
Two developers have posted on the Github site (sporadically).  I don't have a direct email for either one, but their
github profiles may have that info.
