https://www.desotowiwx.com/ It looks like it has not updated since June 2nd. Anyone know of a place were I can replace the radar map with a new one?
-
Looks like it's ok to me.
Update - sorry I didn't check all the settings when I checked it.

Hi Anthony,
Yes, it looks like WU finally turned off their legacy radar. I may have a couple of replacements for you. Please look at the following. Both are from the NWS:
Upper Mississippi Valley (https://radar.weather.gov/ridge/Conus/RadarImg/uppermissvly.gif) - updates every 10 minutes
Upper Mississippi Valley Loop (https://radar.weather.gov/ridge/Conus/Loop/uppermissvly_loop.gif) - a 6 image loop updated every 10 minutes.
Hope this helps,
John

Mine has nothing past June 3rd. Does Ken have patch in the works?

Yes. I’ll check out the available maps and issue a patch tomorrow.

Any updates on the maps Ken?

WU has completely changed the regional radar maps to have a lot more specificity (centering on a home radar site in the area). I’m still looking at options (including NWS Regional loops as a replacement). WU has become much more trouble than it’s worth, and I’m also strongly considering dropping WU-radar for the Base-USA as they’re still offering the static/animated radar displays but have largely discontinued other regional maps we’ve been using in that script and for the home page mini-displays.
The forthcoming update will likely be somewhat disruptive to existing sites as it will require changes in Settings.php, wxindex.php and flyout-menu.xml which will have to be copied to your existing site files.
Still working on it...

I seriously don’t know what we’d do without you, Ken. Keep up the fantastic work!

I added a couple of more days to the "go see the Ridge Radar" page comment on my Announcements.
Has anyone checked their wxradar.php (http://rogerscityweather.com/wxradar.php)? The zoomed out pages have a black background and no map or data, but the zoomed in from the default seems OK on my site.
Is this problem related to the front page issue? If not, is there a fix? This used to work....

Thanks Ken for the awesome work you do on your OWN time.

Mine is the same. I think this is all related to what Ken is trying to fix.

Aeris / PWSweather has some interesting stuff via their API, but the free stuff (for PWS contributors) is limited, both for number of accesses and the actual content.
https://www.aerisweather.com/signup/pws/ (https://www.aerisweather.com/signup/pws/)
I'm looking at this to replace a "other local PWS" page I have that used to rely on weather stickers.

Almost done with the fixes for the Base-USA wxindex.php page.. have to wrap up the documentation, then I'll release.
As a side note, the issue with the 'black images' for regional and usa maps in WU-radar-inc.php from icons.wxug.com appears to be a bad SSL cert
ERROR: certificate common name `www.weather.com' doesn't match requested host name `icons.wxug.com'.
Unable to establish SSL connection.
so the images are broken.

I've added the NWS Regional Radar animated images to replace the (now, non-functioning) Weather Underground Regional Radar images on the homepage just above the ajax-dashboard display.
For details, see https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=39688.msg407710;topicseen#msg407710
Please respond to any issues with the update in the new topic .. I'm going to lock this thread now.
